About me

Geologist interested in Quaternary Geology and Prehistory, with particular expertise in Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) dating.

Since 2014, I am working as a researcher at ESR laboratory dating at the Centro Nacional de Investigación sobre la Evolución Humana (CENIEH) in Burgos (Spain).

I firmly believe that the divulgation of scientific work is an obligation that researchers acquire with society when they decide to devote themselves to research. For this reason, I actively work in all science communication events where I can contribute something interesting.

Atapuerca Research Team

The Atapuerca Research Team (EIA) is a multidisciplinary team made up of more than 150 people from different national and international research centres and universities. Most of this multidisciplinary team that brings together doctors and graduates in more than 20 scientific disciplines works mainly at CENIEH, IPHES, Centro Mixto-Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad de Burgos, Universidad de Zaragoza and Universidad del País Vasco.

In 2004 I participated for the first time in the Atapuerca excavation campaign and since 2007 I have been part of the EIA, specifically of the Geochronology group. My job in the project is to refine the chronology of the sites.

The Periódico de Atapuerca is a monthly publication whose objective is to inform on the scientific advances made, mainly by the EIA in the sites of the Sierra de Atapuerca but also on human evolution in general. The contents are always presented in a pleasant, didactic and scientifically rigorous way. Out of respect and commitment to the care of the environment, the monthly publication consists of only 3 printed issues, the remaining 9 in digital format.
