The Archaeological Site of Atapuerca is located near the city of Burgos (North of the Iberian Peninsula). This site is characterised by a multilevels karstic system where several caves contain a rich fossil record of the earliest human beings in Europe, from nearly one million years ago.

New excavations are undertaken every year at the Atapuerca sites and this year, from 14th June to 24th July,  I am going to participate as a member of the Atapuerca Research Team.

My fieldwork will consist of taking new samples for ESR dating from the Duero fluvial basin and looking for futur potential spots.
